The challenge
Fuel prices in Spain change several times a day across more than 12,000 stations. The government publishes them as open data, but not in a form a driver can use on the road.
What we did
- Built the whole product: the iOS and Android apps and the web app in Next.js.
- Pull the government's open price data for 12,426 stations several times a day.
- Show the cheapest station near you in under 3 seconds, with no account.
- Generate a page for each of Spain's 52 provinces and every fuel type, rebuilt daily, so people find TankoUp on Google.
The result
TankoUp has been live since 2024 on iOS, Android and the web. Drivers get an answer in under 3 seconds without signing up, and ads pay for it.
